Starting from tomorrow night TrueTone and Sidewalk are bringing a night (The last Friday of every month) dedicated to Interstellar beats, Bass Music, Leftfield and all things around / in-between. This month featuring Slamagotchi Live, Kordaroi, Soulshine, Ghetto Blondie and Macro.
Free Entry as always. Longnecks of pale and cocktail jug specials all night long!
Just cause we care X-)
Big thanks to all that came to check out Tokimonsta last friday night! It was a great night of music, especially from Slamagotchi who’s live set was DOPE and of course Toki, who had the crowd at their knees!
To keep the memories fresh in the minds of those who were their, and to torture those who missed it…. A gift from Resident Advisor
Enjoy x
Theo Parish recording the sounds of detroit. This makes it very obvious why his music although electronic in a lot of cases, still sounds so organic and real. Great little vid.
Some cool Vimeo clips here of TokiMonsta (Who plays at Cuckoo on Friday the 29th)
The first one is snippets from the making of her music video X Palos Verdes.
The second is a teaser for a club night, not our club night… But a dope clip none the less;-)
Enjoy! And don’t forget that there are tickets for sale at Cuckoo, Wax Museum or Venuetix.

Stones throw are holding a competition for their 15 year anniversary. The deal is they want their fans to make a video clip for their favorite Stones Throw tune; one that has never been videofyed before.
This one is an instrumental from Dilla’s Donuts album. Great tune, great video entry
After hearing the previews for this online, it was a no brainer, I had to have it… Complied from tape recordings spanning from 1984 - 1990 and beautifully remastered. These tracks are from the golden era of Chicago House. Somehow overlooked at the time of their birth, be this because of petty differences with record companies, or because some dweeb thought he could do it better, they have sat collecting dust all this time! Finally Rush Hour Records decided that it was time. The tracks were picked out of hundreds of recordings, HUNDREDS! And sorted into a 15 track CD or a massive 30 track 5 x LP Box set! Love the devotion to the vinyl release.
I haven’t been so excited about spending $80 in a long time… It’s a real treat to sit down and listen to this from end to end. In remastering, they haven’t toyed with the structure of the tracks at all, if the original recording was an ‘unfinished’ demo, and faded out seemingly early, that’s how it is on the record. It’s raw around the edges in places, moments of simple drum machine jams and one finger basslines (personally these jams are my favorite bits
, mixed with classic Chicago dance floor hooks.
My words hardly do it justice… Get involved!
It’s cold, and no one likes to be cold… I suggest sitting by a heater, and listening to 6 hours of Floating Points & Mr Scruff playing at Plastic People in London. Can’t go wrong.
Alternatively you could chuck it on the ol Ipod and think about warmth while your standing at the bus stop, in the freezing cold, on your way to work….

Cuckoo presents a mad line up of musos playing only first-rate tunes. If you are looking for commercial bull then stay home… Please… But seriously tho, if you are like most of us and have been searching the streets of Adelaide for a bar that’s not pumping out all the same tracks along with 2 for 1 cocksuckers, then come have a gander.
Featured on the cocktail menu are two pages of Martini madness. Surely there must be one that could tickle your tastebuds? Not to mention the Gourmet Grub alongside the exclusive wine list nutted out by the clever characters @ East End Cellars.
Open from 9pm – wee hours
